Bob Chartier is a pioneer in the field of public service learning organizations and communities of practice. His passion for emerging leaders and their full participation in the creation of a public service that Canada can be proud of has been a trademark of Bob’s exciting career as a federal public servant.
Originally from Saskatchewan, Bob is a well-respected author, teacher and public speaker, who has traveled to every corner of Canada and brought a message of hope, change and resilience to thousands of young public servants – of all ages. He has authored three practitioner handbooks in addition to Bureaucratically Incorrect, Letterst to a Young Public Servant - a Canadian best seller. He is currently writing Handcrafted Leadership - Seven Ideas That Could Transform Public Sector Leadership.
Bob was instrumental in the creation of The National Managers Community Council. His focus in promoting a leadership culture that recognizes leadership at all levels was recognized in 2000 when Bob was awarded the Head of Public Service Award.
